Project Engineer - Process Power Manager

Role Overview

Work Model

• The work model is hybrid, based in Bangalore, India.
• The role requires national and international travel of up to 70%.

Engineering Delivery

• Evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Handle testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Prepare project documentation and engineering proposals, including bills of materials and estimated hours.
• Create work plans and cost estimates and ensure timely, cost-effective, quality deliverables.

Power Management and Project Controls

• Complete Power Management System risk and opportunity assessments and implement resulting actions.
• Support contract change management by assessing scope, cost, schedule, and risk impacts.
• Report contract, quality, program, and cost issues with recommendations for resolution.
• Improve work-plan effectiveness with other functions.

Suppliers and Compliance

• Coordinate with Supply Chain to communicate technical requirements to potential suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier proposals and accept equipment or services that are fit for purpose.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with safety regulations, contractual requirements, and applicable processes and tools.

Coordination

• Assign and coordinate tasks with entry-level engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
• Suggest improvements for process and tool inefficiencies.

Experience and Qualifications

• At least 4 years of relevant experience in engineering and commissioning Power Management Systems is required.
• Experience must cover primary equipment monitoring and control, load shedding, load sharing, and synchronization.
• Hands-on experience designing substation network architecture and control philosophy for process or power plants is required.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of IEC 61850, OPC, Modbus, DNP3, IEC 101/104, TCP/IP, PROFINET, Fieldbus, SPA, OT/IT convergence, and cybersecurity is required.
• Experience configuring controllers, protocol gateways, and data concentrators is required.
• Experience with manufacturer IEDs on IEC 61850 and creation of IEC, ICD, CID, and SCD files is required.
• Hands-on experience with DCS application engineering tools is required.

Travel Requirement

• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally up to 70% is required.
• A valid international passport is required.
