Project Engineer
specializing in structural steel contracting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing projects from the initial engineering/shop drawing phase through fabrication, delivery, and final on-site structural erection.
This role acts as the vital link between our production facility, project management team, and client consultants to ensure all structural works are completed on time, safely, and to exact technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- **Site Erection & Execution Management:**
- Plan, monitor, and lead day-to-day site erection operations, coordinating crane lifts, site adjustments, and workforce tasks.
- **Progress Tracking & Scheduling:**
- Maintain project timelines, prepare detailed daily/weekly progress reports, and proactively resolve any site delays or logistical bottlenecks.
- **Technical & Drawing Coordination:**
- Review structural blueprints, connection details, and architectural shop drawings.
- Liaise with the drafting team to clarify design queries (RFIs) before fabrication.
- **Material & Logistics Oversight:**
- Coordinate with the fabrication facility to schedule timely structural element deliveries to the site, minimizing storage constraints and ensuring seamless installation workflows.
- **Consultant & Client Relations:**
- Attend regular site progress meetings, handle technical submittals, and witness on-site inspections alongside main contractors and consultants.
- **HSE Compliance:**
- Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental standards on-site, ensuring the installation team works with total safety compliance during heavy lifting and high-altitude bolt/welding execution.
Qualification & Requirements
- **Education:**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- **Experience:**
- Minimum 2–4 years of direct experience in project engineering, specifically managing
- structural steel fabrication and site erection projects
- in the UAE or GCC region.
- **Technical Skills:**
- Strong proficiency in reading complex engineering structural drawings; familiarity with modeling software (e.g., Tekla Structures or AutoCAD) is a major advantage.
- **Site Knowledge:**
- Practical understanding of heavy steel lifting operations, connection methodologies (high-strength bolting and site welding), and concrete-to-steel foundation handovers.
- **Driving License:**
- A valid UAE Driving License is highly preferred for visiting active construction sites.
- **Communication:**
- Strong command of English (both written and verbal) to confidently manage site correspondence and consultant communications.
