Role Description
This is a part-time Project Engineer role based in Abu Dhabi with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site presence with some work-from-home flexibility.
The Project Engineer will support the planning, design, and coordination of technical projects related to training, research, and consultancy initiatives, ensuring that engineering components are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with institutional standards.
Daily tasks include developing project plans, tracking progress, preparing technical documentation, and coordinating with internal teams and external partners to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
The role involves reviewing technical specifications, supporting electrical and related engineering tasks, and contributing to risk assessment and quality assurance activities.
The Project Engineer will also assist in preparing reports, presentations, and project updates for stakeholders, while maintaining clear communication across multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Project Engineering and Electrical Engineering skills, with the ability to interpret technical specifications and support engineering design and implementation.
- Candidates should possess solid Project Management and Project Planning skills, including scheduling, resource coordination, risk identification, and progress monitoring.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams, present technical information clearly, and engage with stakeholders.
- Candidates should ideally have experience working on projects in education, research, consulting, or development sectors, especially within African or emerging market contexts.
- A relevant bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or related field) or an equivalent technical discipline is preferred; professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are an advantage.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency with common project and engineering software tools are desirable.
