Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Project Engineer at Connect Sydney.
The Project Engineer will support planning, coordination, and delivery of infrastructure projects across road, bridge, tunnel, and intelligent transport systems, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety requirements, and project timelines.
Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing technical documentation, assisting with design development, coordinating with contractors and suppliers, monitoring progress against scope and budget, and supporting risk and issue management.
The role involves collaborating closely with project managers, field teams, and Transport for NSW representatives to resolve technical challenges, respond to faults, and maintain clear communication across stakeholders.
The Project Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, data-driven decision-making, and quality assurance activities within the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Project Engineering and Electrical Engineering, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Demonstrated skills in Project Management and Project Planning, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of multiple work streams.
- Effective Communication skills, including clear written reporting, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration in remote settings.
- Experience in infrastructure, transport, construction, or related engineering environments is highly regarded.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or related discipline) or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar software) is beneficial.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with the ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
