Project Engineer

Role overview

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering from a four-year college or university; the posting lists B.E./B.Tech. and B.A. degree types.
• Typically requires at least five years of related experience.
• A valid UAE driving license is mandatory.

Engineering and design

• Oversee hardware product architecture, design, and implementation; create civil and mechanical design solutions and documentation.
• Use AutoCAD to develop and maintain engineering design packages.
• Source and qualify components, evaluate alternatives for cost or performance improvements, and implement changes.
• Develop plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation infrastructure projects and review field constructability.
• Define package requirements, develop new packaging, and maintain oversight of existing package quality.

Project delivery and coordination

• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate technical and management aspects of projects and monitor deadlines.
• Monitor site safety and legal requirements during implementation; participate in site execution and assist team members.
• Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to gather information and progress project work.
• Prepare daily reports for the Installation Manager, Project Manager, and Project Director.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate closely with the Installation Manager and Project Manager.

Technical planning and compliance

• Prepare project designs, review shop drawings and submittals, and develop conceptual, preliminary, and final ITS engineering plans.
• Ensure projects comply with applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
• Prepare technical proposals and presentations and support proposal work by interpreting RFP requirements and addressing specifications, compliance criteria, and proposed solutions.

Technical skills

• Networking skills to understand and develop network designs that meet project requirements.
• Knowledge of industrial-grade network switches and servers, electronic and electrical circuits, RFID, laser products, and fiber optic solutions.
• Computer literacy across hardware, application software, and network protocols.
• AutoCAD proficiency is required; knowledge of MicroStation, MS Project, and Visio is advantageous.

Additional qualifications

• Strong technical understanding and documentation skills; able to interpret RFP documents and support technical proposals.
• Experience with UAE laws and regulations and familiarity with NOC procedures are advantageous.
