Project Coordinator

Role overview

What you’ll do

• Assist with estimates and project budgets; review drawings, specifications, and project information to understand scope.
• Complete material and labour takeoffs; request, organize, and review pricing from trade partners and suppliers.
• Prepare scopes of work and project specifications; identify missing information, scope gaps, and potential cost considerations.
• Coordinate project information across internal teams and help price change orders and project revisions.
• Maintain estimating templates, pricing information, and cost databases; review job costs and completed work to improve estimating accuracy.
• Clarify requirements, pricing, and lead times with trades and suppliers; organize documents and assist with project setup and job starts.
• Continue developing knowledge of residential construction methods, sequencing, and costs.

What the employer is looking for

• Experience or education in residential construction, project coordination, estimating, construction management, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Strong organization, time management, math, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to communicate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Able to manage multiple projects and priorities and take ownership of work.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to learn construction and estimating software.
• Renovation experience is an asset.

Additional assets

• Post-secondary education in construction management, architectural technology, engineering technology, estimating, or a related discipline is an asset.

Compensation

• Salary is $50,000–$60,000 per year, depending on experience.
