About This Role

Job Description As a Project Planning and Controls Director, you will play a key role by further developing and enhancing the

way we plan and deliver our projects. Working closely with our project and business leaders, the successful

candidate will be responsible for the development and delivery of project planning and controls services and

initiatives across our impressive portfolio of design and supervision projects.

Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership, development, and growth of the WSP ME ‘Project Planning and Controls’ team.
• Establish and manage a robust way of working to deliver full project lifecycle project planning and control services.
• Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders and clients and their representatives.
• A primary focus on design delivery, with growth opportunities in supporting supervision projects.
• Drive excellence in prospect and proposal planning and the development of programme inputs and strategies.
• Drive an integrated and engaging team culture, focused on consistency and quality.
• Development and management of project control methods, tools, and techniques.
• Collaborate with the i3D Digital Solutions team to drive the adoption of latest technologies and automation.
• Develop comprehensive project plans that align with organizational goals and ensure successful project execution.
• Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Oversee budgeting, cost control, and financial forecasting to ensure projects are completed within budget.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to minimize impact on project timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 15 years’ professional experience in project planning and controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or equivalent.
• Experience in the delivery of project planning and controls services across the full project lifecycle
• A digital focus with energy to lead and grow a highly efficient and quality output focused team.
• Expertise in creating and managing detailed project schedules using tools like Primavera P6, ensuring timely project delivery.
• Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure all project deliverables meet the highest standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong ability to address and resolve complex issues efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
• Proficient in project management software and tools, particularly Primavera P6, for planning, scheduling, and control.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and environments, ensuring continuous alignment with business goals.
