Role Description
The Project Engineer / Senior Engineer supports engineering projects from planning and coordination through execution and completion.
The role works with engineering, operations, procurement, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to meet technical, quality, cost, schedule, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project requirements and prepare technical documentation.
- Coordinate engineering activities and monitor project schedules.
- Support implementation of engineering solutions.
- Review drawings and specifications, coordinate resources and materials, and track project progress.
- Identify technical issues and support timely resolution of project challenges.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders and monitor project deliverables.
- Support testing and commissioning and ensure compliance with engineering standards and procedures.
- Senior-level work may include technical guidance, review of engineering work, project planning and risk management, and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, project planning, technical documentation, and project execution.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical reports, and project documentation.
- Familiarity with scheduling, resource planning, procurement coordination, cost monitoring, and risk management.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies, quality standards, safety requirements, and engineering practices.
- Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Primavera, or similar tools are advantageous.
- Analytical, technical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, coordination, and attention-to-detail capabilities are sought.
- Senior responsibilities call for technical coordination, leadership, decision-making, and mentoring capabilities.
- Ability to identify risks, evaluate technical solutions, and support corrective actions; proactive focus on quality, safety, efficiency, delivery, and improvement.
