About Scotiabank

The role is within GWMS Digital Client Services, which modernizes and enhances Scotia Wealth Management client and account onboarding platforms, including WealthOne and ICON.

Role overview

The iTrade Client Onboarding team seeks a client-focused Technical Lead to design and develop enterprise application components and provide consultative guidance on project assignments.

The role contributes technical leadership across design, development, mentoring, and collaboration with business and technical groups.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, test, and implement complex business requirements.
  • Create system models and detailed technical designs, investigate and recommend solutions, and deliver applications using agile methods.
  • Provide technical leadership, coordinate across labs, mentor resources, and support production and release implementations.
  • Ensure delivered solutions match business requirements and business and technical architecture.
  • Work with architects, developers, stakeholders, technical support teams, regulatory and compliance groups, and senior leadership.
  • Maintain knowledge of Wealth Management business strategies and applications.

Qualifications and technical skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of development experience.
  • Proficiency in ReactJS, Redux, NodeJS, Webpack, JavaScript, TypeScript, npm, Java SE/J2EE/Java 8+, microservices or REST APIs, and Azure concepts including Key Vaults.
  • Experience with Maven or Gradle; Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, and Jenkins; Splunk, Dynatrace, or equivalent; IntelliJ or Visual Studio; UNIX/Linux; and SQL databases including MSSQL/Azure SQL, Oracle, or Sybase.
  • Expertise across the software development life cycle and understanding of IT practices and Scrum or Agile.
  • Strong communication, presentation, documentation, problem-solving, troubleshooting, time-management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead complex projects independently and work in cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
  • Assets include Pivotal Cloud Foundry, SonarQube, Fortify, Black Duck, and security concepts such as SSL, certificates, and keystore/truststore.
