Role overview
The Ready to Bake Supervisor leads the Bake at Home department and reports to the Shift Manager.
The role focuses on efficient production, team performance, continuous improvement, and waste reduction.
Production and team leadership
- Lead the Bake at Home department and provide direction when the Shift Manager is absent.
- Coach, support, and develop team members; support training and a multi-skilled workforce.
- Ensure production operatives follow Standard Operating Procedures, manage breaks, and complete shift handovers.
- Share company updates and initiatives with the team.
Safety, quality, and improvement
- Maintain health, safety, quality, food-safety, product, and packaging standards; identify and report non-conformances.
- Conduct safety walks, enforce PPE use, complete pre-startup checklists, and address safety concerns.
- Uphold 5S, verify paperwork, and participate in line meetings, investigations, and production reviews.
- Improve production performance and reduce waste.
Experience and qualifications
- Proven team-supervision experience in manufacturing, ideally in the food industry.
- Level 2 CIEH Food Hygiene and IOSH Managing Safely are listed qualifications; Level 3 Food Hygiene is preferred.
- First Aid or Fire Warden qualifications are a bonus.
- The candidate should be detail-oriented, communicate effectively, and build positive working relationships.
Shift pattern
- Works 12-hour day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Weeks 1 and 3: Sunday through Wednesday; four days on and three days off.
- Weeks 2 and 4: Sunday through Tuesday; three days on and four days off.
- A yearly shift pattern is provided.
