Production Supervisor

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily production and allocate manpower, equipment, and materials according to production schedules.
• Monitor output, deadlines, and quality standards; lead, train, motivate, and support production workers.
• Improve efficiency, reduce waste and downtime, investigate defects with quality control, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and SOPs.
• Track production output, efficiency, defects, and equipment utilization; prepare reports and communicate progress and issues to management.
• Coordinate with maintenance to address equipment breakdowns and prevent recurring disruptions.
• Ensure availability of raw materials, components, and supplies; maintain production, attendance, and inventory usage records.
• Identify bottlenecks, support continuous improvement, resolve daily issues, and escalate major concerns.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or in a similar manufacturing or production role.
• Leadership, team management, organizational, and communication skills; ability to supervise teams and coordinate multiple tasks.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, workflow management, quality control, safety standards, and production best practices.
• Problem-solving and decision-making ability, including monitoring performance and implementing process improvements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for production reporting and performance tracking.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage changing priorities, and meet production deadlines.

Preferred qualifications and advantages

• Familiarity with production management systems, ERP software, or manufacturing execution systems (MES) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methods is an advantage.
• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Workforce scheduling, production reporting, inventory coordination, or quality improvement experience is an advantage.
