Responsibilities
- Monitor shop-floor production and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
- Allocate work to operators, optimize manpower, and monitor workflow and downtime.
- Coordinate production planning and ensure materials, components, tools, and equipment are available.
- Work with Stores, Purchase, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to prevent delays.
- Monitor quality and address production issues, bottlenecks, rejection, rework, wastage, and losses.
- Maintain production records and reports and ensure effective use of machines, manpower, and materials.
- Maintain housekeeping and compliance with 5S, safety rules, and production procedures.
- Support productivity and cost improvements; coordinate machine breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Complete production orders on schedule and train or guide operators on processes and work instructions.
Qualifications and experience
- 2–3 years of relevant production or manufacturing experience.
- Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech. in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field; ITI with relevant production experience may also be considered.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, shop-floor operations, manpower handling, production planning, quality control, and inspection.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills, including identifying bottlenecks and taking corrective action.
- Knowledge of 5S, safety practices, and basic productivity improvement methods.
- Basic MS Excel and production reporting knowledge; communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fabrication, assembly, mechanical manufacturing, or generator-set manufacturing experience is an advantage.
- Candidate should be comfortable in a factory/shop-floor environment and may need to work shifts.
