The role requires a person who can manage and grow category sales through showroom promotion, contractor engagement, staff training, product knowledge development, stock planning, brand coordination, and technical support.
The Product Manager will be responsible for handling and promoting leading brands such as
Terraco, JK Cement ProFix, National Paints, Jotun Paints, Emirates Paints
, and other relevant products available at PlanetEco.
This role is ideal for someone who understands building materials, enjoys product selling, can train sales teams, and can actively push category growth in the UAE market.
1. Category Management
The Product Manager will be fully responsible for the growth and performance of the following categories:
Paints and coatings
Interior paint, exterior paint, primers, enamel paint, decorative paint, texture paint, protective coatings, and related accessories.
Waterproofing solutions
Cementitious waterproofing, liquid membranes, roof waterproofing, bathroom waterproofing, basement waterproofing, crack repair, sealants, and related systems.
Plastering and finishing materials
Cement plaster, gypsum plaster, putty, skim coat, tile adhesives, block jointing mortar, repair mortar, wall finishing products, and surface preparation materials.
The person should understand each category technically and commercially, and must be able to guide customers toward the correct product depending on site requirement, budget, surface condition, and application method.
2. Brand Management
The Product Manager will manage and promote brands including:
Terraco
– texture coatings, EIFS, exterior finishes, putty, waterproofing and finishing systems.
JK Cement ProFix
– tile adhesives, putty, plastering materials, waterproofing, and construction chemicals.
National Paints
– architectural paints, decorative coatings, industrial coatings, primers, and related paint products.
Jotun Paints
– premium paints, decorative finishes, protective coatings, and professional painting systems.
Emirates Paints
– interior/exterior paints, primers, enamels, and value-based paint solutions.
The role includes maintaining strong relationships with brand representatives, understanding brand pricing, arranging training sessions, coordinating promotions, and ensuring PlanetEco’s showroom team is confident in selling each brand.
3. Showroom Product Promotion
The Product Manager must ensure that these product categories are properly displayed, promoted, and explained inside the showroom.
Responsibilities
include:
Creating attractive product displays.
Making sure brand samples, catalogues, shade cards, brochures, and technical data sheets are available.
Training showroom sales staff on how to explain the products.
Helping customers compare brands and product options.
Suggesting bundle offers for contractors, painters, and retail customers.
Improving visibility of fast-moving and high-margin products.
Ensuring the showroom has proper product signage and category-wise arrangement.
The person should treat the showroom as a selling platform, not only as a storage or display area.
4. Sales Support and Customer Handling
The Product Manager will support the sales team in converting leads and closing category-specific sales.
This includes:
Attending important customer discussions.
Supporting walk-in customers, contractors, painters, consultants, and project buyers.
Recommending the right product system based on requirement.
Preparing product comparisons when needed.
Helping with quotations for paints, waterproofing, plastering, and related products.
Explaining application method, coverage, drying time, surface preparation, and product benefits.
Following up on major inquiries until conversion.
Supporting outdoor sales staff with product knowledge and technical guidance.
The role requires someone who can speak confidently with both technical customers and normal retail buyers.
5. Technical Knowledge and Site Support
The Product Manager should have practical technical understanding of how products are applied on-site.
The person should be able to guide customers on:
Surface preparation
Primer selection
Paint system recommendation
Waterproofing application method
Crack treatment
Plaster thickness and curing
Putty and skim coat usage
Tile adhesive selection
Coverage calculation
Common site problems and solutions
Product compatibility between brands
When required, the Product Manager may visit sites along with the sales team or brand technical team to understand the issue and recommend suitable solutions.
6. Sales Team Training
A major responsibility will be to train PlanetEco’s internal sales team.
Training should cover:
Product features and benefits
Difference between brands
When to sell premium vs. economy options
Basic technical application
Common customer objections
How to calculate quantity and coverage
How to upsell related products
How to identify project opportunities
How to sell complete systems instead of single products
For example, instead of selling only paint, the team should learn to sell the complete system:
primer + putty + paint + tools + waterproofing if required

7. Revenue and Profit Growth
The Product Manager will be responsible for increasing sales and profitability in the assigned categories.
Key focus areas:
Increase monthly sales volume.
Improve gross profit margin.
Promote high-margin and fast-moving products.
Reduce dead stock and slow-moving inventory.
Identify new products required in the market.
Create product bundles for contractors and painters.
Support promotional campaigns.
Work with the marketing team to promote brands and offers.
Track category-wise performance.
The role is not only product management; it is also a business growth role.
8. Stock and Inventory Coordination
The Product Manager must coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure the right stock is available.
Responsibilities
include:
Monitoring fast-moving items.
Avoiding overstock of slow-moving products.
Suggesting reorder levels.
Checking availability of key shades, sizes, and SKUs.
Ensuring showroom samples are always available.
Identifying missing products in the category.
Coordinating with suppliers for stock, pricing, and delivery.
Reviewing dead stock and suggesting liquidation plans.
The person should balance product availability with inventory control.
9. Supplier and Brand Coordination
The Product Manager will coordinate directly with suppliers and brand representatives for:
Pricing updates
Product training

New product launches
Marketing materials
Sample boards
Demo sessions

Credit and delivery coordination
