Product Owner/scrum master

About This Role

Role Overview

As a Product Owner, you will:

• Translate product ideas into actionable tasks for engineering and QA
• Own the backlog and ensure features are well-defined
• Run sprint planning and daily follow-ups
• Coordinate with developers and QA to ensure timely delivery
• Track progress and report completion status
• Collaborate with CTO to align execution with high-level product vision
• This is a high-impact, execution-heavy role, ideal for someone who thrives in a startup environment and enjoys seeing work shipped efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Backlog & Task Management

• Break features into epics, stories, and tasks with clear acceptance criteria
• Write Jira tickets and manage backlog prioritization
• Ensure tasks are properly scoped and technically feasible

Sprint & Delivery

• Run sprint planning sessions
• Track daily progress and follow up on blockers
• Ensure timely releases and high-quality delivery
• Coordinate QA and bug tracking

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Backend, Frontend, Mobile, and QA teams
• Coordinate with Customer Support for feature insights and feedback
• Communicate release schedules and progress updates

Reporting & Metrics

• Track feature completion and sprint velocity
• Provide weekly updates to the CTO/founder on delivery status

Ideal Candidate

• 2–5 years experience in product ownership, preferably in startups or tech products
• Comfortable managing Jira or similar agile tools
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Experience running sprints and following up with dev teams
• Detail-oriented and execution-driven
• Startup mindset: proactive, hands-on, ownership-driven

Bonus:

• Experience in AI products or SaaS platforms
• Technical understanding to communicate effectively with engineers

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED3,500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
