Duties and Responsibilities
- Uphold and demonstrate SSI’s guiding principles in all business activities.
- Represent ShipConstructor Software Inc. professionally and provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
- Take initiative, be proactive, and contribute positively within and beyond your team.
- Clarify requirements and expectations to ensure a thorough understanding of assigned work.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software in accordance with SSI coding standards and development guidelines.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects, performance issues, security concerns, and other technical problems.
- Complete assigned tasks within agreed timelines and budgets, escalating risks or variances promptly.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and development decisions for future reference.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend tools, technologies, and process improvements that enhance software quality and team productivity.
- Contribute to the creation, maintenance, communication, and enforcement of development standards and best practices.
- Demonstrate leadership through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and effective participation in team meetings and discussions.
- Plan, prioritize, and execute work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- What we look for:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
- Solid experience in software development with a focus on backend or systems engineering
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, or C++
- Experience designing and building scalable, distributed systems
- Experience with AI/ML infrastructure or MLOps tooling (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, Azure ML)
- Great to have:
- Exposure to data engineering frameworks and streaming technologies
- Experience working with large datasets, ideally in engineering or CAD-related domains
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with spatial data and CAD systems
- Please note: The successful candidate must be located in Canada and have Canadian citizenship or hold a valid Canadian Permanent Residency.
