Role & Responsibilities
- Creating and developing a strategic long-term plan for the development of the category.
- Category Growth: Driving marketplace growth of the relevant category while considering the consumer and competition.
- Responsible for category ranging, pricing, and promotions across channels.
- Placing appropriate orders to ensure product availability meets demand.
- Leading category management projects to optimize ranges and related merchandising.
- Collaborating with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories.
- Creating forecasts for product demand to ensure sustainability of inventory.
- Managing budget development and revenue for the category.
- Responsible for merchandising, assortment planning, option plans pre-season as well as in season to ensure that the Category is well represented.
- Should be able to identify broader trends and fill category gaps.
- Developing strong working relationships with buying, marketing and sales teams.
- Owning P&L for the relevant category in alignment with business goals. The Category manager would be responsible for the revenue targets as well as the gross margins.
