Overview

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required by the company while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality standards, and timely delivery.

The role supports operational efficiency by maintaining strong supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with company procurement policies.

Procurement & Sourcing

  • Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers and vendors.
  • Source materials, equipment, spare parts, and services based on company requirements.
  • Request and analyze quotations, proposals, and bids from suppliers.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contract conditions.
  • Issue purchase orders and follow up on order execution.
  • Supplier Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier performance regarding quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues and discrepancies.
  • Maintain an approved supplier database.

• Cost Control & Purchasing Optimization

  • Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and value improvement.
  • Compare supplier offers to obtain the best commercial and technical value.
  • Support budgeting and procurement planning activities.

Coordination & Follow-up

  • Coordinate with engineering, production, warehouse, finance, and quality departments regarding procurement requirements.
  • Track shipments and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Follow up on material shortages and urgent requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation of procurement activities.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare procurement reports and purchasing performance analyses.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier contracts.
  • Support internal and external audits related to procurement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional procurement certifications (CIPS, CPSM, CPP, or equivalent) are preferred.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, construction, or engineering environments is preferred.
  • Experience dealing with local and international suppliers.

Skills

  • Supplier negotiation and contract management.
  • Strong analytical and cost evaluation skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
  • ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
