About Helsing

Helsing is a defence AI company focused on protecting democracies and supporting sovereign decisions and ethical standards in technology.

The company describes an open, transparent culture that welcomes debate about technology in defence and its implications.

The role

Own procurement activities across development and customer projects within established programme structures.

Contribute to sourcing early in project phases and coordinate engineering, supply chain, production, and external partners.

Support defined workstreams while building experience to manage increasingly complex scopes, with support from senior colleagues.

Work spans prototyping through production ramp-up, with attention to supplier selection, cost, and quality.

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Support and lead procurement workstreams against cost, quality, and schedule targets.
  • Contribute to sourcing strategies, flag supply risks, and align procurement schedules with engineering and programme milestones.
  • Evaluate suppliers for technical components and systems, escalating trade-offs when appropriate.
  • Connect engineering, procurement, suppliers, and production teams; communicate technical requirements and surface issues.
  • Support prototyping, industrialisation, and serial production ramp-up.
  • Monitor supplier commitments and flag cost, quality, and delivery deviations for corrective action.
  • Maintain a qualified supplier base that meets technical and compliance requirements.

Required qualifications

  • Have managed procurement activities in technically complex or project-driven environments, taking workstreams from requirements through delivery.
  • Be able to interpret technical documentation and assess supplier capabilities.
  • Have coordinated cross-functional engineering, production, and supplier stakeholders.
  • Have supported or led negotiations and supplier relationships for technical components, with understanding of contract terms.
  • Manage competing priorities methodically and escalate trade-offs clearly.
  • Communicate clearly in written and spoken English to technical and non-technical audiences.

Advantageous experience

  • Exposure to defence, aerospace, or other regulated industries is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with industrialisation or production ramp-up is advantageous.
  • Experience with ERP or procurement management systems in a project-led organisation is advantageous.
