Overview
- Manage the end-to-end procurement of fabrics, trims, accessories, packaging materials, and production consumables required for manufacturing operations.
- Source and evaluate local and international suppliers for fabrics, embellishments, labels, zippers, buttons, threads, and other apparel production materials, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and supply agreements with vendors to achieve cost efficiencies while maintaining product quality standards.
- Prepare and manage Purchase Orders (POs), supplier quotations, and procurement documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Coordinate closely with Design, Production, Merchandising, and Inventory teams to forecast material requirements and ensure uninterrupted production schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance, material quality, and delivery timelines, proactively resolving shortages, quality issues, and supply chain disruptions.
- Manage international procurement activities, including supplier communications, freight coordination, import documentation, customs requirements, and shipment tracking.
- Track all incoming materials against Purchase Orders, ensuring quantities and specifications match approved requirements before acceptance into inventory.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels of fabrics, trims, and production materials to prevent stock shortages, excess inventory, and production delays.
- Develop and maintain a reliable supplier network within the garment and textile industry, identifying alternative sourcing options to mitigate supply risks.
- Conduct regular cost analysis and market research on fabrics, trims, and apparel production materials to identify savings opportunities and market trends.
- Collaborate with Logistics and Warehouse teams to coordinate inbound shipments, receiving schedules, and material availability for production planning.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, material specifications, price lists, and sourcing history for operational and audit purposes.
- Prepare procurement reports covering purchasing spend, supplier performance, material consumption, inventory status, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Maintain a complete procurement tracking system covering supplier quotations, Purchase Orders, shipment status, delivery schedules, goods received, and invoice reconciliation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Fashion Business, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within fashion or luxury retail.
- Strong knowledge of production planning and vendor management in the garment industry.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple deadlines.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
