Role overview

Procurement planning

• Plan purchases based on production schedules, sales orders, projects, and expected material consumption.
• Review stock, open purchase orders, minimum stock levels, and upcoming needs; identify shortages and take corrective action.
• Coordinate material requirements with Production and Stores and maintain reorder levels for critical materials.
• Balance material availability, working capital, and inventory holding costs.

Vendor management and purchasing

• Identify, evaluate, onboard, and maintain suppliers and an approved vendor list.
• Assess vendors on price, quality, delivery, service, and reliability; conduct performance reviews and develop alternate suppliers for critical materials.
• Negotiate payment terms, credit periods, lead times, minimum order quantities, and commercial terms.
• Obtain and compare quotations, prepare and release approved purchase orders, and ensure order details are accurate.
• Track orders through delivery, follow up on delays, and escalate issues affecting production or customer commitments.

Project and supply coordination

• Coordinate customized lighting and project-specific procurement with Sales/Projects and Production.
• Coordinate procurement for new product development and customized BOMs; order special materials with sufficient lead time.
• Work with suppliers on samples, prototypes, and customized components; separately track project-critical materials where needed.
• Monitor lead times, pending and delayed orders, urgent purchases, and expected incoming materials for Production and Stores.

Documentation and systems

• Maintain purchase orders, supplier quotations, comparative statements, vendor information, price history, delivery records, and pending-PO reports.
• Maintain supplier performance records, purchase approvals, material specifications, vendor agreements, and commercial terms.

Compensation

• Pay starts at ₹30,000 per month.

Requirements

• Strong experience in manufacturing procurement.
• Experience in vendor management, price negotiation, inventory planning, and purchase coordination.
• Experience in the LED, electrical, electronics, lighting, or engineering manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
• Able to coordinate procurement requirements with production, stores, sales, and project teams.
