Role overview

Procurement and supplier management

• Plan materials based on project requirements, BOMs, BOQs, drawings, production schedules, and stock availability.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, obtain and compare quotations, negotiate prices and terms, and issue purchase orders.
• Procure steel and fabrication materials, electrical components, HVAC materials, cables, hardware, welding consumables, fasteners, paints, and project-specific items.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Stores, Projects, Finance, and Management to ensure timely supply.
• Monitor supplier production, delivery schedules, quality, shortages, and pending orders; resolve supplier delays, quality issues, rejections, and disputes.
• Develop local and international supplier networks and identify alternative suppliers or materials to improve cost, availability, and delivery.

Inventory, controls, and reporting

• Manage stock levels, consumption, minimum and maximum levels, reorder points, and excess, slow-moving, obsolete, or non-moving inventory.
• Conduct physical stock verification and reconcile stock with ERP or system records; control receipt, issue, transfer, and documentation with Stores.
• Avoid material shortages and unnecessary over-purchasing; analyze data for cost savings and working-capital improvements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, approved budgets, project requirements, and authorization procedures.
• Prepare procurement, supplier, outstanding purchase order, stock, and inventory reports for management.

Qualifications and experience

• MBA degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
• The source describes an additional professional Procurement or Supply Chain qualification/course as required/preferred.
• Three to five years of relevant experience in steel manufacturing, steel fabrication, engineering, or a similar industrial company.
• Practical knowledge of steel, fabrication, electrical, mechanical, and project-related materials.

Skills and systems

• Proven procurement, supplier management, negotiation, inventory control, and stock-management experience.
• Understanding of the supply chain from material planning through procurement, delivery, receipt, storage, consumption, and reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience with ERP or procurement systems and MS Excel.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills; able to manage multiple projects, urgent needs, and tight production schedules.

Preferred manufacturing experience

• Candidates with procurement and supply chain experience for generator enclosures, telecom or railway shelters, battery cabinets, modular data center shelters, steel structures, fabricated enclosures, or similar engineered products are preferred.
• Strong procurement and complete inventory or stock-management experience in steel manufacturing is preferred.

Pay

• AED 8,000–10,000 per month.
