Procurement Lead

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Develop category and sub-category strategies aligned with corporate objectives and operational needs.
• Monitor procurement financial data and analyse spend to identify savings, efficiencies, and improved commercial outcomes.
• Manage supplier engagement, contract formation, contract performance, and supplier risk.
• Deliver procurement training, maintain contract register and pipeline data, and prepare management reporting.

Requirements

• CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply.
• Relevant procurement experience with cashable and efficiency outcomes and consideration of whole-life costs.
• Knowledge and experience of public-sector procurement, applicable regulations, contract and supplier management, and Public Sector Frameworks.
• Ability to develop tender packs and independently manage tender evaluation, moderation, and award.
• Ability to communicate commercial risks and recommend proportionate mitigations.
• Supplier relationship and contract management experience, and Terms and Conditions drafting, are desirable.

Workplace

• Hybrid working with a minimum of three days per week in the office at Service Headquarters, Tovil, Maidstone.

Compensation

• Base salary is £51,561–£57,255 per annum, depending on experience.
• Full-time, 37 hours per week.
• Benefits include Local Government Pension Scheme membership and 32 days of annual leave, in addition to bank and public holidays.
