Role overview
The Procurement Engineer – Marine / Infrastructure supports complex marine and heavy civil projects by securing timely, cost-effective, technically compliant procurement.
The role works with engineering, construction, planning, and commercial teams to support schedules, cost control, and procurement risk management.
Responsibilities
- Procure marine and infrastructure packages, including piling, steel and concrete structures, dredging, marine plant, quay accessories, geotextiles, rock armour, temporary works, and specialist subcontract packages.
- Prepare RFQs with scopes, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and method constraints; coordinate with Engineering on design intent, constructability, temporary works, and marine methodology.
- Send enquiries to approved suppliers and specialist subcontractors; evaluate technical and commercial offers and prepare comparison sheets.
- Clarify technical and commercial points and support negotiations on pricing, delivery schedules, logistics, and marine constraints.
- Prepare procurement recommendations and award documents; issue letters of intent, purchase orders, and subcontract agreements within approval limits.
- Maintain procurement logs, long-lead item trackers, delivery schedules, and supplier records, following procurement procedures and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- At least 5 years of construction procurement experience in the Middle East, focused on civil marine projects, is required.
- Experience conducting supplier audits for quality and safety compliance is required.
- Prior experience in KSA is highly preferred.
