Job Title: Procurement Engineer (Civil Engineering)

Tendering & Procurement

• Lead the tendering process, including preparing RFQs, RFPs, and bid documents for civil engineering projects.
• Experience in Quantity take off from the project drawings is essential & preferred.
• Analyze bids, conduct vendor evaluations, and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality compliance.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies to support project timelines and budgets.
• Ensure supplier pre-qualification and adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to understand procurement needs and technical requirements.

Vendor & Contract Management

• Identify, evaluate, and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitor supplier performance, ensuring timely deliveries and compliance with contract terms.
• Develop a supplier database to optimize procurement processes.

Cost Control & Compliance

• Ensure procurement activities align with budget constraints and cost-saving objectives.
• Monitor market trends and price fluctuations to optimize procurement decisions.
• Ensure all procurement transactions comply with company policies, legal regulations, and industry best practices.
• Prepare and present procurement reports and cost analyses to management.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Certification in Procurement & Supply Chain Management (CIPS, PMP, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in procurement, tendering, and contract management within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of tendering procedures, contract negotiation, and supplier management and material related to civil works like cement, concreted, ready mix steel, tile, ceramic etc.
• Familiarity with local and international procurement regulations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in mega infrastructure projects or government tenders.
• Knowledge of local and international construction material standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
