Process assurance accountabilities
- Set standards for incoming feedstock/raw materials, intermediate streams, and finished products; create control plans with parameters, ranges, sampling, tests, acceptance criteria, and corrective actions.
- Ensure consistent process monitoring and early detection, recording, and correction of deviations before losses, quality deterioration, or process instability occur.
- Assess feedstock for moisture, organic matter, contamination, foreign material, particle size, and consistency; relate variability to digester performance, gas generation, stability, and downstream quality.
- Monitor biological and chemical parameters, including pH, temperature, TS/DM, VS/OM, alkalinity, organic loading, and VFA.
- Set sampling locations, methods, frequency, and handling procedures; ensure laboratory tests follow SOPs and are accurately recorded, traceable, and interpreted.
- Guide laboratory personnel and develop daily, weekly, and monthly dashboards for critical parameters, trends, deviations, corrective actions, and improvement opportunities.
- Use a deviation-to-RCA-to-CAPA-to-effectiveness-verification process; identify variation across raw material, manpower, machine, method, measurement, and environment.
- Work with Maintenance on equipment condition, precision, instrumentation, calibration, and process-control issues; collaborate with Production/Operations to keep parameters within approved operating windows.
