Role Overview

Location and Work Mode

• Candidates based within commuting distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn office are prioritized.
• Team members near the office are expected to come in once or twice per week.
• Remote candidates outside commuting distance may be considered case by case, with occasional office travel expected.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Own recruiting from intake through offer for Data Science and Machine Learning roles.
• Source senior technical talent, including applied scientists, ML engineers, and data scientists.
• Partner with hiring managers, challenge misaligned expectations, and bring market data to the process.
• Develop pipelines for recurring roles and searches requiring long lead times.
• Track pipeline health, time-to-fill, and quality-of-hire metrics using Workday Recruit.
• Improve recruiting processes, tooling, and sourcing across the team.
• Represent Etsy well at every candidate touchpoint.

Experience and Qualifications

• Eight or more years of full lifecycle recruiting experience are required, with substantial technical recruiting experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI.
• Candidates should understand model types and the differences among research, applied, data science, and ML engineering roles.
• Strong client management and the ability to run recruiting processes independently are expected.
• A record of closing senior candidates in competitive technical markets is expected.
• Data fluency, experience with Workday Recruit or a comparable ATS, and comfort with ambiguity are expected.

Compensation

• Base salary varies by location, skills, and experience.
• Geo-1 annual salary range is $152,000 to $206,000 USD.
• Geo-2 annual salary range is $137,000 to $185,000 USD.
• The role also includes eligibility for equity, an annual performance bonus, and benefits.
