Principal Systems Software Engineer

Role overview

Systems software development

• Develop software for managing, monitoring, and provisioning servers, storage, networking, and GPU subsystems.
• Automate hardware provisioning and onboarding of servers to large-scale fleets.
• Lead platform bring-up, firmware updates, platform diagnostics, and cross-layer debugging.
• Resolve complex issues across software, firmware, hardware, and operating system layers.

Software development and architecture

• Design software solutions, analyze requirements, and lead software features and enhancements.
• Improve software lifecycle execution, code quality, coding standards, and code review practices.
• Implement testing, quality assurance, logging, monitoring, observability, and performance optimization.
• Develop API integration, versioning, lifecycle, and interoperability strategies.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to less experienced engineers.

Customer and issue support

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand customer issues and align technical solutions.
• Provide advanced technical guidance for customer-reported issues when needed.
• Investigate broad maintenance issues and develop short- and long-term resolutions.
• Suggest product enhancements and improve issue-handling and training processes.

Core qualifications

• Advanced systems software experience in hyperscale environments.
• Experience with firmware, platform bring-up, diagnostics, and cross-domain debugging.
• Experience with hardware interfaces, protocols, logic analyzers, JTAG, emulators, and modern processor or accelerator platforms.
• Experience with software testing, observability, performance optimization, APIs, and software architecture.
