About the role

What you will do

• Collaborate with engineering, data science, product, and design teams on vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Own multiple platform areas from development through production.
• Share knowledge, mentor teammates, and support strong engineering practices.

Basic qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 8+ years with a web development framework, such as Flask, Django, FastAPI, NestJS, Spring Boot, Ruby on Rails, or ASP.NET.
• 8+ years with relational and NoSQL databases, such as MS SQL Server or PostgreSQL and AWS DynamoDB.
• 5+ years leading design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.

Other qualifications

• Experience building and operating SaaS products in cloud environments; AWS is preferred.
• Familiarity with modern distributed systems and software practices including DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability.
• Hands-on containerization experience with Docker or Kubernetes; familiarity with Elasticsearch.
• Java or TypeScript exposure is a plus.
• Success in agile cross-functional teams; strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Pay

• Annualized base salary range for Vancouver, British Columbia is CAD $168,000–$252,000.
• The role may be eligible for a bonus plan or role-specific commission/bonus and annual stock refresh grants.

Flexible work

• Workday Flex Work combines in-person time and remote work.
• Teams spend at least half of each quarter in the office or in the field, depending on role; remote home-office roles may also attend office gatherings.
