In this role

• Set the R&D learning-products and enablement strategy, roadmap, service model, and measures of success.
• Discover capability, knowledge, adoption, and performance needs across R&D; select suitable learning, knowledge, workflow, automation, tool, or community interventions.
• Track emerging technologies, AI models, developer tools, and technical work practices; recommend responsible AI adoption and appropriate human oversight.
• Partner with technical teams, internal partners, and vendors to turn ideas into practical tools, workflows, prototypes, and scalable adoption.
• Create learning products, onboarding, knowledge resources, playbooks, tools, automations, and communities.
• Develop and test prototypes and workflow automations; define requirements, user stories, workflows, success criteria, and implementation plans.
• Lead programs from discovery through launch and adoption; manage milestones, dependencies, risks, communications, and decisions.
• Make build, configure, buy, integrate, transfer, scale, or stop recommendations.
• Own and improve R&D and developer onboarding.
• Measure adoption, behavior, capability, time-to-proficiency, self-service, efficiency, quality, and business outcomes.
• Provide functional leadership, mentorship, and direction through expertise and influence rather than formal authority.
• Model Samsara's stated cultural principles as the company scales.

Minimum requirements

• 8+ years in technical product management, technical program management, developer enablement, technical learning, learning technology, product enablement, or a related field.
• 5+ years working directly with software engineering, product, data, or AI teams to deliver technical products, programs, or enablement solutions.
• Experience supporting a highly technical organization and understanding how technical employees work.
• Ability to translate emerging technologies, developer tools, AI platforms, and technical workflows into adoption strategies.
• Experience partnering with engineers, technical leaders, and technology providers on capabilities, implementation, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
• Hands-on experience creating prototypes, tools, automations, or self-service solutions with AI-assisted development, APIs, integrations, low-code platforms, or comparable technologies.
• Experience enabling AI adoption in technical teams, including use cases, work redesign, output evaluation, and human oversight.
• Experience turning user or business problems into requirements, user stories, workflows, success criteria, implementation plans, and scalable solutions.
• Experience defining strategy and roadmaps, prioritizing portfolios, and making build, configure, buy, integrate, or stop recommendations.
• Strong product and program leadership across dependencies, risks, priorities, and teams not directly managed.
• Experience designing and scaling learning products, technical onboarding, knowledge solutions, developer education, or adoption programs.

Additional qualifications

• Developer onboarding, developer education, engineering enablement, advocacy, or technical community experience is an advantage.
• Generative AI, developer-focused AI tools, retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge architecture, enterprise search, agentic workflows, or conversational experiences are advantageous.
• Vendor enablement programs, product requirements, process flows, integration requirements, or technical documentation experience are advantageous.
• Familiarity with adult-learning principles, performance consulting, learning-product design, or instructional design partnerships is advantageous.
• A portfolio of learning products, prototypes, tools, automations, knowledge solutions, or technical programs with measurable impact is advantageous.
• Experience establishing or redesigning a technical learning, developer enablement, learning-product, or internal-product function is advantageous.
• Evidence-based measurement, influence-based leadership, and strong communication across technical, business, learning, and senior audiences are valued.
