Role overview

Principal Program Manager, Technical, on the Verification Program team within Identity & Trust.

Own programs that strengthen verification controls across products and geographies, including new markets, wallets, and lending.

Work with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Compliance and report to the Head of Verification Program Management.

The role connects technical systems to regulatory intent and supports incident response, product design, and audit readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead verification control lifecycle management, including rule design, first-line-of-defense testing, and control-effectiveness reviews.
  • Partner with product teams to design controls for new products and initiatives.
  • Provide transaction-monitoring expertise for incident response, audit requests, and new-product risk assessments.
  • Apply automation and AI tools to the control lifecycle; gather insights and data, recommend enhancements, and create repeatable processes with quality review gates.
  • Turn verification-risk insights into business and system requirements and partner with compliance, product, and engineering to operationalize scalable solutions.
  • Maintain audit and examination readiness through evidence documentation, traceability, and control mapping.
  • Lead cross-functional Verification, Transaction Monitoring, and Sanctions initiatives to close regulatory gaps and streamline testing.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of program-management or risk-control ownership experience in AML, financial crime, or regulatory programs; payments or remittances experience is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of AML and related control systems, including screening, document validation, and sanctions rules.
  • Familiarity with audit, regulatory reporting, and control documentation practices.
  • Technical fluency and ability to collaborate with engineering.
  • Ability to work across product, compliance, and operations and provide structure in ambiguity.
  • Advanced ability to analyze operational, customer cohort, and risk-control data.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills across global time zones.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, risk management, or a related field; CAMS or similar certification is preferred.
  • Fintech, payments, or remittance product experience is strongly preferred.

Compensation

  • Starting base salary range is $140,000–$175,000; the posting does not state the pay cadence.
  • Equity is part of the total compensation plan; other benefits and compensation components are described by the recruiter.

Workplace

  • Hybrid work expectations require onsite attendance Tuesday through Thursday each week, with additional attendance possible based on business needs.
  • The company may modify its hybrid-work expectations.

Benefits

  • Benefits include four weeks of vacation, health benefits, mental health and family-forming benefits, RRSP matching, employee stock purchase plan, life insurance, disability coverage, and continuing education.
