Role and Company

Redcan builds agentic AI solutions on enterprise platforms, including tools that help migrate and configure enterprise software.

The Principal Product Manager leads strategy and execution across multiple products and initiatives, owning customer problems and product outcomes from discovery through launch and adoption.

The role is remote within Canada, ideally near the Greater Toronto Area, Kitchener-Waterloo, or Vancouver for occasional in-person collaboration.

Travel is regularly expected up to 25% for customer engagements, industry events, and team collaboration.

Customer and Market Insight

  • Lead discovery with customers, developers, and business users, including public-sector and regulated-industry teams; turn research and usage data into problem statements.
  • Identify AI workflow opportunities, validate demand and feasibility, and track market, competitor, technology, policy, and regulatory developments.
  • Test product and market assumptions early and use evidence to recommend investment.

Product Mastery and Solution Fit

  • Build hands-on product knowledge to demonstrate products, configure pilots, and create working prototypes with limited engineering support.
  • Define AI product and workflow requirements, including tasks, agent roles, permissions, human review, audit trails, and feedback loops.
  • Guide reusable capabilities and developer tooling; partner with engineering on architecture decisions affecting security, privacy, tenancy, reliability, and auditability.

Strategy and Execution

  • Own product strategies and coordinated 6–12 month roadmaps across products and projects; prioritize against customer value, business goals, dependencies, capacity, and risk.
  • Lead build, buy, hybrid, and sunset recommendations and decisions about shared or product-specific capabilities.
  • Plan for model and vendor dependencies, data residency, and procurement constraints; help shape positioning, go-to-market plans, and pricing.
  • Define product success measures, design experiments, write measurable requirements, and coordinate delivery, user acceptance testing, and launch preparation.
  • Track risks, blockers, and changes; resolve issues, escalate trade-offs, and partner on capacity planning and return-on-investment assessments.

Customer Engagement and Leadership

  • Present product direction and evidence to executives, engineers, portfolio companies, and customers; facilitate decisions and align stakeholders.
  • Lead discovery sessions, demonstrations, workshops, and pilot reviews; translate feedback into product decisions and communicate delivery expectations.
  • Mentor product managers, co-ops, and designers; support recruiting and onboarding; create reusable product playbooks.
  • Take initiative on unfamiliar problems, exercise commercial judgment, and build collaboration across teams and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent education or work experience.
  • At least 8 years of product management experience, including end-to-end B2B SaaS product or platform ownership and leadership across multiple products, initiatives, or teams.
  • Experience shipping AI- or LLM-powered features to production and understanding quality evaluation, failure modes, and cost management.
  • Experience with developer platforms, enterprise software, or workflow and low-code products.
  • Experience in government, the public sector, or regulated industries where auditability, privacy, and procurement shape decisions.
  • Technical fluency with architecture documents, API specifications, and pull requests; practical AI tool proficiency for prototyping, analysis, research, and specifications.
  • Entrepreneurial initiative, ownership, communication, ability to manage concurrent priorities, and comfort working directly with customers.
  • Authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship and willing and able to undertake occasional, reasonable business travel.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Preferred: agentic AI, including tool use, MCP, agent skills, multi-agent orchestration, human-on-the-loop review, and evaluation methods.
  • Preferred: workflow and case management, including workflow engines, state machines, approvals, service-level deadlines, and task assignment.
  • Preferred: enterprise SaaS foundations such as multi-tenancy, identity, role-based access control, audit logging, and data residency.
  • Preferred: hands-on prototyping with AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor, or AI design tools.
  • Preferred: Canadian public-sector context, including municipal services, ATIP, or FIPPA/MFIPPA processes.
  • Preferred: OpenText data platforms and ecosystem, or VC- or PE-backed portfolio company experience.
