Job Title: Principal Integration Technician
The Integration Technician is responsible for integrating payload systems on UAVs, conducting ground testing, and supporting flight test preparation and execution.
The role includes operating test equipment during ground and flight testing, collaborating with engineers and senior technicians, and assisting in preparing and maintaining UAV test setups.
Qualifications / Experience
High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training in mechanical technology preferred and 4+ years of relevant experience.
Experience
in integration and testing is required, along with familiarity with UAV systems.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools is essential.
Knowledge of adhesive bonding and composite assembly methods is desirable.
Strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and teamwork skills are critical.
Candidates should demonstrate problem-solving ability in troubleshooting fabrication or system issues.
Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement is expected.
Certifications in LEAN, 3P, or 5S are an advantage.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is required.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in integrating payload systems into UAVs, including mounting, wiring, and configuration to ensure proper functionality.
Conduct ground testing of UAV systems such as payloads, sensors, avionics, and communication systems.
Support flight test preparation and execution, ensuring systems are fully operational.
Operate and monitor test equipment during testing and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to review test plans and readiness.
Maintain and prepare test setups, ensuring calibration and functionality of equipment.
Safety and Documentation
Follow established safety protocols during all integration and testing activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate records of integration, testing, and troubleshooting activities, including system performance and test results.
Operating Environment
Work in a hands-on, high-security environment, including remote or restricted locations.
Participate in flight test missions, supporting pre-flight and post-flight activities.
The role may require extended standing, lifting equipment, and working with machinery.
Use of PPE is mandatory.
Overtime and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines.
