Role overview

Structural design and delivery

• Lead structural design for major infrastructure and commercial projects, meeting client expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Develop strategies that optimize performance, cost efficiency, sustainability, and constructability.
• Conduct advanced structural analysis and modeling for complex engineering challenges.
• Review and approve structural designs, calculations, and technical documentation prepared by team members.
• Ensure compliance with Qatar building codes, international standards, and project-specific requirements.
• Manage multiple projects, priorities, documentation, and deadlines.

Team and stakeholder leadership

• Mentor, coach, and develop junior and mid-level engineers.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders for integrated delivery.
• Participate in client presentations, design reviews, and technical discussions; recommend design optimization and value engineering.

Quality and business support

• Conduct quality assurance reviews and implement improvements to design team efficiency and output quality.
• Track emerging structural engineering technologies, materials, and industry practices through ongoing professional development.
• Contribute technical expertise to proposal development and project estimation.

Required qualifications

• 15 or more years of progressive structural engineering design and analysis experience.
• At least 5 years in a principal, senior, or lead engineering role with demonstrated leadership and team management.
• Advanced proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, or equivalent.
• Expert-level knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM coordination.
• Knowledge of international building codes and standards, Middle East construction practices, and Qatar building regulations.
• Ability to manage complex multidisciplinary projects from design through construction administration.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineering staff, and proficiency in technical writing, reports, and project documentation.

Preferred qualifications

• Professional Engineering licensure or equivalent international engineering qualification is preferred.
• Knowledge of sustainable design, green building certifications such as LEED or Estidama, and energy-efficient structural solutions is preferred.
