The role owns technical direction, engineering capability, people leadership, delivery and operational performance for shared integration and engineering services.
About the team
Integration Services provides shared engineering capabilities for connectivity, automation and engineering quality across the organisation.
The capability spans enterprise integrations, reusable engineering services and quality engineering practices supporting multiple products, platforms and teams.
Major transformation programmes rely on shared integration capabilities across platforms and teams; distributed responsibilities create risks of fragmented ownership, duplication, inconsistent approaches and limited reuse.
About you
- Experienced Principal Engineer or senior engineering leader with a strong background in enterprise integration, shared engineering services or platform capabilities.
- Experience working across multiple teams and technology domains, with judgement about central ownership and standardisation versus domain ownership.
- Able to define strategic direction and make credible technical decisions on architecture, engineering practices, reliability and delivery.
- Experienced people leader who can develop senior engineers and build a high-performing team.
- Able to influence teams and establish common approaches where responsibilities have been distributed.
- Pragmatic about balancing standardisation and reuse with the needs of individual products and domains.
What you'll work on
- Define which capabilities should become reusable Internal Products capabilities and which should remain owned within individual domains.
- Establish common integration approaches, reusable services and engineering patterns that reduce duplication and make system connections safer and more reliable.
- Provide senior technical leadership across transformation programmes, including the Commercial Technology Programme.
- Ensure programme-level integration decisions contribute to a coherent and sustainable technology estate.
- Build the team, engineering capability, operating model and ways of working needed for a successful shared service organisation.
