Role overview

Circana is building an agentic ecosystem using consumer behavior data to create intelligent systems that reason, plan, and act.

AI/Agentic Architects work with domain experts to design agents, establish patterns, and own solutions from initial discovery through production use.

Each architect anchors an engineering pod and guides the technical direction of a solution family.

Responsibilities

  • Lead agentic system design and delivery from domain discovery through production use.
  • Translate expert knowledge into intent ontologies, tool contracts, and evaluation sets.
  • Own harness engineering, including context, MCP servers, guardrails, retries, graceful degradation, tracing, and replay.
  • Build evaluation infrastructure with golden traces, regression suites, routing tests, and offline and online measurement.
  • Establish reusable services, tools, and conventions.
  • Set technical direction for an engineering pod, review work, and raise standards.
  • Represent the work to product, architecture, security, executive, and client stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Track record shipping agentic systems to production for real users.
  • Deep production fluency with LangGraph, Google ADK, or Microsoft Agent Framework.
  • Production experience with multiple model families and at least one major cloud AI stack.
  • Mastery of context management, prompt design, plan generation, structured outputs, and tool design.
  • Daily fluency with agentic coding tools; Claude Code is preferred.
  • Command of specs, continuous evaluations, prompt and tool versioning, and trace-driven debugging.
  • Strong communication with engineers, domain experts, and senior executives.

Preferred background and technology

  • Preferred: consumer goods, retail, or large-scale measurement data background; forward deployed or field engineering experience at an AI or data company; public technical artifacts.
  • Listed technologies include Anthropic, Google and OpenAI models; GCP Vertex AI and Azure AI Foundry; MCP, A2A, AG-UI and A2UI; Python and TypeScript.
  • Delivery tooling includes evaluation harnesses as CI and tracing and observability tooling.
