Work includes onshore and offshore concept, FEED, and detailed engineering.

Project and team leadership

  • Develop discipline work plans and supervise engineers, designers, and technical personnel delivering project work.
  • Prepare cost, time, and resource estimates; manage design changes within project budget and schedule.
  • Guide engineering and design teams, coordinate workshare, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Control project budget, plan and deliver to schedule, and contribute to proposals and man-hour estimates.

Electrical engineering delivery

  • Design substations and electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution systems, including 220kV, 132kV, and lower-voltage systems.
  • Prepare and review specifications, datasheets, load lists, sizing calculations, single-line diagrams, adequacy reports, schedules, and material take-offs.
  • Develop substation and field layouts, electrical equipment and automation specifications, package and bulk items, and cabling details.
  • Perform equipment, cable, UPS, earthing, and subsea cable sizing calculations.
  • Perform or check load-flow, short-circuit, motor-starting, transient-stability, harmonic, arc-flash, and protection-coordination studies.
  • Prepare material requisitions and scopes of work, review offers, answer technical clarifications, and perform technical bid evaluations.
  • Coordinate with clients, other disciplines, and vendors; participate in site surveys, data collection, design reviews, E-HAZOP, energy optimization, value engineering, and constructability workshops.
  • Ensure technical integrity and compliance with project scope and applicable standards.

Required experience and education

  • Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience executing concept, FEED, and detailed engineering for onshore and offshore oil and gas projects.
  • Experience with 220kV, 132kV, and 33kV systems is required.

Technical knowledge and tools

  • Knowledge of ADNOC standards, SHELL DEPs, and international standards such as IEEE, ANSI, IESNA, NFPA, and IEC.
  • Knowledge of hazardous-area classification, electrical safety in design, sustainable design engineering, E-HAZOP, HAZID, and HAZOP.
  • Computer skills with MS Office and electrical engineering or sizing software such as SPEL, ETAP, EDSA, SKM, CYME, and EMTP.
  • Engineering software examples also include battery-sizing and lighting-calculation software.

Communication and accreditation

  • Good spoken and written English, including report writing and client presentations.
  • Chartered Engineer accreditation is preferred.
  • Communication and leadership skills are required to guide teams and coordinate workshare.
