Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design for major infrastructure and commercial projects.
• Develop strategies addressing performance, cost-efficiency, sustainability and constructability.
• Perform advanced structural analysis and modeling.
• Review and approve designs, calculations and technical documentation.
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, project managers and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Qatar building codes, international standards and project requirements.
• Manage concurrent projects, documentation and deadlines.
• Contribute to client presentations, design reviews, optimization and value engineering.
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, materials and industry practices.
• Perform quality assurance reviews and improve design processes.
• Support proposal development and project estimation.

Experience and qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive structural engineering design and analysis experience.
• 5+ years in a principal, senior or lead engineer role, with leadership and team management capabilities.
• Advanced proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE or equivalent structural analysis and design software.
• Expert-level knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and BIM coordination.
• Expertise in international codes, Middle East construction practices and Qatar building regulations.
• Experience managing complex multidisciplinary projects from design through construction administration.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior and mid-level engineering staff.
• PE licensure or equivalent international engineering qualification is preferred.
• Sustainable design and knowledge of LEED, Estidama and energy-efficient structural design are preferred.
