Autotrader seeks a Principal Data Scientist to help transform the organization into a data science-driven business.
The role sets the direction of Data Science and works in a cross-functional squad focused on products or services.
The data science team develops personalized recommendations, search improvements, AI tools for listings and advertisements, seller-performance analysis, and customer-data-platform capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Identify data science opportunities and work with squad leadership to prioritize, resource, and shape projects.
- Orchestrate projects, support Data Analysts and Scientists, and collaborate with software engineers on solutions.
- Develop machine-learning-centric data products and solutions using ML frameworks and workflows.
- Help establish analytical standards and tools across the community and contribute to shared learning and mentorship.
Technology and data platform
- The team uses Python and Databricks for data science; Spark, MLflow, and Airflow for ML workflows; Google Cloud Platform for analytics infrastructure; and dbt and BigQuery for modeling and warehousing.
