Role overview

Leads data center construction by colocation providers, with accountability for timely, on-budget delivery and quality.

Serves as the primary company contact for colocation providers and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders.

Project planning and delivery

  • Develops project schedules and coordinates milestone delivery across multiple projects.
  • Creates and manages budgets, optimizes resource allocation, and maintains project documentation.
  • Coordinates tenant fit-out work across design, construction, and commissioning.

Quality, commissioning, and design

  • Implements quality controls to ensure work meets design specifications and industry standards.
  • Conducts site walks and leads startup and commissioning of major data center projects.
  • Coordinates work with approved design plans and oversees power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling installation.

Risk and vendor management

  • Evaluates project delivery risks, identifies mitigation gaps, and develops and implements risk strategies.
  • Selects, negotiates, and manages external vendor, contractor, and supplier contracts and performance.
  • Evaluates colocation providers and identifies process improvement opportunities.

Broader team contributions

  • Coordinates and prioritizes work across projects and adjusts plans to changes in resources or timelines.
  • Documents problem-solving strategies, seeks input from stakeholders, and contributes to process improvements.
  • Coaches and mentors junior team members and participates in candidate interviews and hiring recommendations.

Requirements

  • Able to manage and coordinate moderately complex tasks across projects, monitoring timelines and deliverables.
  • Able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and align solutions with their needs.
  • Able to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and escalate unresolved or critical risks appropriately.
  • Willing to pursue ongoing learning and feedback and stay current with industry practices.
