Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Pre-Sales Engineer to join our Automation Systems team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the sales team by designing, estimating, and proposing integrated automation solutions, including Home Automation Systems (HAS), Guest Room Management Systems (GRMS), Lighting Control Systems, Smart Building Solutions, and related ELV technologies.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and the ability to engage with consultants, contractors, developers, and end users throughout the sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project specifications, tender documents, and client requirements.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals for automation and smart building projects.
- Design system architectures and develop bill of quantities (BOQs).
- Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and client workshops.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and technology partners to obtain quotations, technical support, and project-specific solutions.
- Review drawings, schematics, and project documentation.
- Develop value engineering proposals to optimize project costs while maintaining functionality and performance.
- Support the sales team during client meetings, negotiations, and technical discussions.
- Respond to RFIs, technical clarifications, and consultant comments.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain strong relationships with consultants, contractors, developers, and key stakeholders.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and market trends in automation and smart building solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in pre-sales, design, estimation, technical support, or engineering of automation, smart building, or ELV systems.
- Knowledge of one or more of the following solutions, Home Automation Systems (HAS), Guest Room Management Systems (GRMS), Lighting Control Systems - KNX Solutions, Smart Building Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS) and LV Switchgear and Control Panels
- Strong understanding of system integration concepts, communication protocols, and automation architectures.
- Ability to prepare technical and commercial proposals, technical submittals, BOQs, compliance statements, and solution designs.
- Experience with technical support activities, including troubleshooting, responding to technical queries, and supporting project handover to implementation teams.
- Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to understand client requirements, present technical solutions, and support the sales process.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, LV switchgear, industrial automation, building automation, and security integration solutions is an advantage.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and other engineering/design tools.
- Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are considered an advantage.
- UAE/GCC experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities, conduct site visits, and work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with KNX, BACnet, or similar automation platforms.
- Knowledge of hospitality and luxury residential projects.
- UAE/GCC market experience.
- Understanding of project execution and commissioning requirements.
