Role Purpose

The Practice Head (Technical) – BFS will be responsible for building and leading the Banking & Financial Services technology practice, driving technical excellence, delivery governance, capability development, solutioning, and business growth across BFS accounts.

The role will serve as the technical leader for the BFS business, partnering closely with delivery, sales, and client stakeholders to develop differentiated offerings, strengthen domain and technology capabilities, and ensure successful execution of strategic transformation programs.

Practice Leadership

  • Define and execute the BFS technology practice strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Build and scale capabilities across Core Banking, Payments, Lending, Digital Banking, Data & AI, Cloud, and Regulatory Technology.
  • Develop reusable solutions, accelerators, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Drive innovation and technical thought leadership within the BFS portfolio.

Delivery Excellence

  • Provide technical governance and oversight across key BFS programs and engagements.
  • Ensure delivery quality, risk management, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support program teams in resolving complex technical and delivery challenges.
  • Establish and monitor practice-level KPIs for quality, utilization, and operational performance.

Business Growth & Solutioning

  • Partner with sales and account teams to support business development and strategic pursuits.
  • Lead technical solutioning for RFPs, proposals, and client presentations.
  • Identify opportunities for account mining, service expansion, and new offerings.
  • Contribute to revenue growth and profitability targets of the BFS business.

Capability & Talent Development

  • Build a high-performing team of architects, consultants, program managers, and technical specialists.
  • Define competency frameworks, career paths, and skill development plans.
  • Drive hiring, mentoring, certification, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and engineering excellence.

Client Engagement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to client technology and business leaders.
  • Participate in executive governance and strategic client discussions.
  • Strengthen customer relationships through technical leadership and delivery excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in IT Services, Banking Technology, or Digital Transformation.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing large technical teams, practices, or portfolios.
  • Proven experience working with global Banking and Financial Services clients.
  • Strong understanding of BFS platforms, digital transformation, cloud technologies, data, and modern engineering practices.
