Role overview

Own planning, execution, and delivery for data center, mission-critical, and pre-investment infrastructure projects.

Manage scope, schedule, and budget for engagements involving substation design, generation and load interconnection, and early-stage site feasibility.

Serve as the primary client contact, including for clients with limited experience navigating energy infrastructure development.

Key responsibilities

  • Own project plans, schedules, and budgets; track milestones and financial targets and drive corrective action.
  • Guide client objectives into actionable project scope and advise clients through the development pathway.
  • Coordinate substation, protection and control, civil/structural, power generation, and interconnection disciplines for constructible delivery.
  • Manage subconsultants, vendors, and contract administration.
  • Support feasibility studies, power availability assessments, and preliminary master planning for pre-investment and greenfield data center sites.
  • Manage project risks and mitigation strategies with technical leads.
  • Prepare proposals, fee estimates, and client presentations; contribute to business development.
  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures and industry standards; mentor project managers and early-career staff.
  • Coordinate with interconnection and substation engineering teams to keep client commitments technically grounded.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 7+ years of power systems or electrical infrastructure project delivery experience, including ownership of scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Working knowledge of substation design, power generation, generation/load interconnection, and transmission planning.
  • Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants on complex infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to advise clients with limited energy-infrastructure experience.
  • Track record contributing to proposals, fee estimation, and business development.
  • Data center, mission-critical, or large-load client experience is strongly preferred.
  • ISO/RTO interconnection queue familiarity and PMP certification or active pursuit are pluses; PE licensure is a plus but not required.

Work arrangement

  • The posting identifies the role as hybrid and lists Boston, Syracuse, Arlington, Chicago, and Houston as locations.

Compensation

  • Anticipated base salary is $95,000 to $140,000 per year; actual compensation may vary by location and candidate factors. Bonus, overtime, or other compensation may also be available.

What the company offers

  • The company describes a flexible work environment, professional development, and a comprehensive benefits package supporting well-being and work-life balance.
