Power Systems Data Analyst

Job details and summary

Essential functions

• Research, extract, verify, and produce data for the assigned operational team and external clients.
• Maintain dashboards and reports, including validating data accuracy and integrity.
• Assist with developing and maintaining analysis tools and dashboards for operational use.
• Respond to basic ad hoc data requests from various departments.
• Use statistical techniques to identify data trends and patterns.
• Create visual representations of data for presentations and reports.
• Coordinate with personnel in other work centers to support teamwork.
• Comply with company policies and safety standards.

Additional responsibilities

• Support client satisfaction and provide basic technical support to assigned personnel as needed.
• Train users and help ensure consistent data entry and processes for reliable data retrieval.
• Perform related duties as required and promote corporate values.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Experience with data analysis tools and techniques such as SQL and Excel.
• Interest in SQL, data visualization such as Power BI or Tableau, and statistical analysis.
• Detail-oriented, with business acumen and ability to analyze and solve complex business issues.
• Must have or be able to gain an understanding of company business systems and data extraction.
• Strong verbal and written communication and ability to multitask with minimal supervision.
• Self-motivated, able to work in groups, and demonstrates client service.
• Intermediate user of Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and experience

• A degree in Business Data Analytics, Engineering, Economics, or Mathematics is preferred but not required.
• At least two years of experience with company business systems is preferred.
• Caterpillar and/or Dealer Parts Operations experience is a plus.
• Must be able to speak, read, comprehend, and write English.

Work environment and physical demands

• Regularly sits and uses hands; frequently talks and hears; occasionally stands, walks, reaches, and bends.
• May occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds; close vision and ability to adjust focus are required.
• Regularly exposed to indoor conditions and occasionally to wet, hot, cold, or outdoor conditions; noise level is quiet.
