Power BI Business Intelligence Analyst and Developer

Role overview

Duties and responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that communicate key business metrics.
• Write efficient DAX measures, calculations, and aggregations; use Power Query to refine and shape data.
• Use AI assistants to accelerate development, troubleshoot DAX, and streamline Power Query transformations.
• Collaborate with data engineering and modeling peers on semantic layers and visual outputs.
• Monitor performance, optimize DAX and rendering, and maintain reports as needs evolve.
• Gather stakeholder requirements and translate them into useful visual solutions.

Requirements

• Experience developing production-ready Power BI reports and dashboards, with strong Power Query skills.
• Experience with DAX measures, calculated columns, and row-level security or complex evaluation contexts.
• Foundational SQL for data extraction and validation; Python or PowerShell scripting familiarity for pipeline tasks or automation.
• Ability to translate business metrics and requirements into user-friendly visual narratives.
• Openness and enthusiasm for using AI development assistants such as Copilot, Claude, or Codex.

Education and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 1–3 years of hands-on Power BI report development and business intelligence analysis experience.
