Lead poultry farm operations, optimize production performance, and improve operational efficiency.
The role focuses on hands-on layer-farm management, flock performance, biosecurity, and large-scale farm operations.
Farm operations and production
- Oversee daily farm operations to maintain productivity, efficiency, and quality.
- Manage layer flocks from pullet rearing through peak laying and extended production cycles.
- Monitor poultry nutrition, feed use and conversion, water, environmental conditions, and housing.
- Oversee egg collection, grading, handling, storage, hygiene, and quality.
- Track production data, mortality, flock performance, and operational KPIs to improve results and profitability.
People, resources, and compliance
- Implement flock health, vaccination, biosecurity, disease-prevention, and veterinary management programs.
- Lead and develop farm personnel, including workforce planning, training, and performance management.
- Manage budgets, operating costs, inventory, procurement, equipment maintenance, and resource use.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, animal welfare, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement, sustainable farming practices, and long-term operational development.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Poultry Science, Animal Science, Farm Management, Agribusiness, or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of relevant farm management or agricultural operations experience, including substantial hands-on poultry and specialized layer-farm experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of layer flock management, egg production, poultry nutrition, biosecurity, disease prevention, and veterinary coordination.
- Experience in farm planning, workforce leadership, budgeting, cost control, and production performance management.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to drive improvements and achieve production targets.
