Job Objective

To provide specialist technical expertise in marine civil engineering for ADNOC projects, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant design review and execution of marine and coastal infrastructure works.

The role is responsible for overseeing contractor activities, validating engineering deliverables, and ensuring all marine civil aspects align with ADNOC standards, international codes, and project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight and guidance on marine civil engineering aspects including jetties, berths, quay walls, breakwaters, revetments, and coastal protection systems
  • Review and approve contractor design documents, calculations, drawings, and method statements related to marine civil works
  • Ensure all marine construction activities are executed in compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and applicable international codes
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, geotechnical, marine, and construction to ensure integrated project delivery
  • Monitor site and offshore construction activities related to marine infrastructure and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and schedule requirements
  • Evaluate geotechnical and bathymetric data to support design validation and construction planning
  • Participate in design reviews, constructability assessments, HAZID/HAZOP workshops, and risk assessments for marine works
  • Identify technical risks and propose mitigation measures to ensure project objectives are achieved
  • Interface with contractors, consultants, and ADNOC stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope, deliverables, and technical requirements
  • Support procurement activities by reviewing technical bid evaluations and vendor submissions for marine civil scopes
  • Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and close-out of marine civil works including as-built records
  • Provide mentorship and technical support to junior engineers and project teams

Expected

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Coastal Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in marine civil engineering within the oil and gas, ports, or coastal infrastructure sectors
  • Proven experience in a PMC or EPC environment, preferably on ADNOC or similar Middle East projects
  • Strong knowledge of marine structures design and construction including jetties, quay walls, breakwaters, and dredging works
  • Familiarity with international standards and guidelines such as PIANC, BS, Eurocodes, and relevant ADNOC standards
  • Good understanding of geotechnical principles, coastal processes, and hydrodynamics affecting marine structures
  • Experience in reviewing contractor deliverables and managing construction activities in marine environments
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to HSE and quality compliance in marine and offshore environmentsct environment
