Role Description
The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing, updating, and monitoring project schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of construction projects.
This full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates involves preparing baseline programs, progress reports, and recovery plans, as well as analyzing critical paths, resource loading, and productivity trends.
The Planning Engineer will coordinate closely with project managers, site teams, procurement, and subcontractors to align planning activities with actual site progress and contractual requirements.
Daily tasks include tracking milestones, identifying risks and delays, recommending corrective actions, and supporting project control functions such as forecasting, reporting, and performance measurement.
The role also requires active participation in progress meetings, clear communication of schedule impacts, and adherence to Parkway International’s quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Strong planning and production planning skills, including development and maintenance of detailed construction schedules and resource plans.
- Proficient analytical skills and project control capabilities for monitoring progress, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective actions.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and subcontractors, and to present schedule information clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with project planning and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Previous experience in building or infrastructure projects in the UAE or GCC is preferred.
- Solid understanding of construction methodologies, contract terms, and cost/schedule integration.
- Ability to work on-site in Dubai, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
