Job Description Overview
The Planning Emngineer supports the Project Manager in all aspects of project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.
The role involves reviewing and analysing project programmes, tracking progress against established baselines, identifying risks and delays, and recommending mitigation and recovery measures.
The Planning Engineer plays a key role in coordinating with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on programme activities, critical milestones, procurement timelines, testing and commissioning requirements, and overall project delivery objectives.
Additionally, the role contributes to reporting, schedule performance analysis, and evaluation of delay impacts, supporting informed decision-making and successful project execution.
Your Role
- Support the Project Manager in programme review, progress monitoring, schedule analysis and reporting throughout the project duration.
- Review the Contractor’s baseline programme, look-ahead programmes, recovery programmes, progress updates, critical path, milestones, interface dates, procurement activities, authority approval activities, testing and commissioning activities, IST activities, handover milestones and close-out requirements.
- Monitor project progress against the approved baseline and advise the Project Manager on programme risks, delays, mitigation measures, recovery actions and key decisions required from the Client or project stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of weekly progress reports, monthly executive reports, dashboards, progress curves, milestone trackers, action trackers and programme-related inputs to the project risk register.
- Coordinate with the Main Contractor, White Space Fit-Out Contractor, vendors, OEM representatives, designers, authority stakeholders and commissioning parties to identify programme interfaces, long-lead item constraints, testing and commissioning dependencies and handover readiness requirements.
- Support the review of delay events, schedule impact assessments, recovery proposals, EOT submissions and related programme matters, and provide recommendations to the Project Manager for Client review.
- About you
- Strong experience in construction planning, programme management, progress monitoring, schedule analysis and reporting.
- Experience in data centre, mission-critical, industrial, MEP-intensive or fast-track projects will be preferred.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and relevant planning, reporting and dashboard tools required for project controls.
- Ability to support delay analysis, schedule impact assessment, recovery planning and coordination of contractor programme submissions.
- Familiarity with multi-contractor environments, EFE / LLI interfaces, commissioning logic, handover sequencing and authority approval dependencies will be preferred.
