Planning Engineer (Bridge Project Experience)

Role overview

Required qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least seven years of experience in the discipline, including at least five years in the proposed role on similar UAE projects of comparable size and complexity.
• Must have participated in at least two projects in Dubai within the last five years and have experience in bridge and infrastructure construction.
• Must have good English skills and strong working knowledge of Dubai authority procedures and standards.
• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS Office Suite; strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and workflows.
• The posting also specifies five to seven or more years of planning and project controls experience in construction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and monitor detailed schedules in Primavera P6 from mobilization through handover; MS Project is listed as an additional skill.
• Prepare cost-loaded and resource-loaded programmes, change logs, KPIs, and extensions-of-time materials.
• Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to maintain baseline alignment and identify risks and action plans.
• Prepare look-ahead programmes, progress reports, mitigation plans, and crash or recovery plans for delays.
• Visit sites to verify progress; integrate milestones with authority NOC approvals, traffic diversion programmes, and permits.
• Analyze critical path, float, and resource allocation; attend progress meetings and present management and client updates.
• Perform delay analysis, including Time Impact Analysis and Window Analysis, and prepare contractual correspondence.
• Ensure planning guideline compliance and coordinate with project controls and document control to maintain schedules, reports, and project documentation.

Project experience and technical knowledge

• Experience with Etihad Rail and RTA projects is specified in the essential experience section.
• Experience preparing baseline, recovery, revised, and monthly updated programmes, planning reports, S-curves, productivity analyses, and KPIs.
• Bridge and infrastructure methods include piling, pile caps, steel structures, deck slabs, bearing works, and heavy lifting.
• Knowledge of temporary works and structural logistics is specified.
