Key Accountabilities
1.
Prepare and update budgets (related to BUTEC’s offices, plants & camps, etc...) in order to preview and optimize relevant costs.
2.
Perform cost control activities (quantities, past expenses and delays, present and future commitments and variation orders), prepare the cost breakdown and the cash flow in order to highlight current and potential budget deviations.
3.
Analyze technical drawings and provide material and cost estimations.
4.
Make sure the cost allocation of resources is done and checked properly by level 2 engineers/officer, and coordinate with interested parties in case of discrepancies of high complexity/impact to ensure full accuracy of information.
5.
Provide assistance and support to planning and cost control engineers/officers working on site, intervene whenever needed to solve problems/complications, and be ready to fill any gap in the planning & cost control workforce in order to ensure work continuity.
6.
Analyze unusual events and monitor the productivity of resources in order to improve the estimation and the planning processes.
7.
Prepare regular reports, provide a complete analysis of the major deviations in terms of planning and cost and propose appropriate suggestions to optimize the project’s cost.
8.
Learn from own and others experience in order to increase capability and skill level and lower the risk of repeating the same, or the same type of, mistakes.
9.
Coach planning & cost control support engineer/officer at lower levels in order to integrate them in the work and train them to ensure their continuous skill level improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Engineering degree.
- Primavera skills is a must.
- PMP, RMP and Power BI is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in planning engineer.
- Analytical, critical and logical thinking capabilities.
- Planning and project management skills.
- Ability to travel on missions.
- English language skill – written and spoken.
